Scenes from Anatomies, TD & Designer/Mentor UIL OAP Bi-District Qualifier
March 2020
Following our District contest, our UIL OAP competitive season was halted and then canceled due to the pandemic.

This story is about two English physicians who perform autopsies on ill-gotten corpses. The trunks appear onstage as a metaphor of the lives ended prematurely. By the end of the play, we have the characters bring out specimen jars, setting them on their trunks. The production ends, and the specimen jars are illuminated by remote controlled LED lights.

This production required quick-moving, cinema-graphic-like scenes, some lasting only a few seconds; thus, we created three projection screens, using three short-throw projectors to help capture each moment. The set was painted in a cool, monochromatic blue color that allowed the projections to be easily seen and also resemble the cold Atlantic waters where the Titanic was lost. The central platform added interest and elevations needed for given scenes.
