Scenes from Yerma TD & Designer/Mentor UIL OAP District Alternate Qualifier March, 2018

This mythic poetic play, written by the Spanish playwright Federico Lorca, is a play about a Spanish woman’s quest to have children and raise a family, but finds herself barren. We wanted to create a landscape that resembled this barren essence by creating rocks and surrealistic trees.

Footloose TD & Designer/Mentor January, 2018
We wanted to create a false proscenium that echoed the steel I-beam structure of the train bridge, located up center. The symmetrical side two platforms were raked to provide better staging so the audience could see the actors as well as a design choice to further create the illusion of a deeper stage (forced perspective). We used the cyclorama for color effects and projections.

Footloose was nominated in 12 categories by Lyric Stage, Schmidt & Jones High School Musical Awards, including Best Musical, Best Lighting Design and Best Set Design.

Peter and the Starcatcher TD & Design Mentor October, 2017
Annya Jaquez, a Junior Technical Theatre student, was the scenic designer, Karan Gosi, a senior, was the Lighting Designer.
The primary element used for scenery were four 10'0" three sided periaktoi. The style of presentation is more presentational and also required live music as well as the use of Foy sound effects.
